Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus, known around the world for his innovations in microcredit and social enterprise, was a special guest of the Merrick School of Business on April 20, when he spoke to a sellout crowd at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
The event kicked off what is expected to be a series of scintillating discussions labeled the Dean's Speaker Series, in which Dean Darlene Smith identifies a vital issue and selects a highly respected lecturer to lend his or her insights. Yunus, the 2006 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, discussed the power of lending to move entire societies forward.
