Business Programs Ranked, Again.
For the second year in a row, the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as offering one of the country's Best Undergraduate Business Programs. Climbing 30 places in its 2012 ranking, the school is at the top of Maryland's public business schools; only the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park is ranked higher.

Tale of Two Brothers
Brothers and fellow UB alumni, Brian and Jonathan Schwartz have had parallel career paths that started with the practical business education they received from the Merrick School of Business. Brian, B.S. ‘90 and Jonathan, B.S. ’92 and M.B.A. ’99, both majored in finance, and have since become members of the Dean’s Advisory Council. Both have careers focused on enterprise risk management.

Jeffrey Sachs, award-winning development economist, Columbia University professor of health policy and management and author of The Price of Civilization: Reawakening American Virtue and Prosperity, will appear at the University of Baltimore on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. as the next guest of the 2011-12 Merrick School of Business Speaker Series season. The event will take place in the Lucy and Vernon Wright Theater in the UB Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave.
