Neighbors in Need

The Merrick School of Business, working with a number of other University of Baltimore departments, is helping area families and shelters through the Neighbors in Need program. This year, the school exceeded its fundraising goal by 19 percent. Proceeds went to buy bed linens, towels and other goods for those in need.

The recipient of all this good cheer is the Salvation Army’s Booth House—a 24-hour emergency and transitional housing facility for area women, children and families. Consisting of a 57-bed, 30-day residency emergency shelter and a 19-bed, 2-year residency transitional housing unit, the facility provides a safe, comfortable environment for those working to rebuild their lives. The facility is located on North Calvert Street in Baltimore.

Thanks to all those who participated in the 2010 campaign!
