Faculty and Staff Bring Holiday Cheer to Local Shelter

Merrick's staff members help load the Mattie B. Uzzle van.

In a climate of economic uncertainty, the Merrick School of Business reached out once again this year to help the Mattie B. Uzzle Shelter, a 45-bed facility for homeless women and their children located in the Collington Square section of Baltimore. The school’s faculty and staff donated necessities such as personal toiletries and bed linens, as well as a microwave, games and reading material. The Office of the Dean coordinated the effort as part of the school’s outreach efforts.

Merrick Helps Students Enhance Professional Skills

Life before computers, smart phones, the Web, Wikipedia: Really, was such a thing even possible? How on earth did we manage? Many of our Merrick Exchange readers will remember life before the advent of IT, but that is not the case for many of our current students and young alumni. They are part of a generation that was exposed early in life to technological advances that have transformed business operations, and changed the way we live from moment to moment.

Master's Advantage

The economy can be down, or it can be booming – it doesn’t matter to those business professionals who are constantly seeking ways of differentiate themselves in order to maintain a competitive advantage. Many already possess a graduate business degree, like an M.B.A. with a leading-edge specialization. These professionals then seek to build on their professional and academic knowledge base by undertaking post-graduate studies.
