Sigma Nu Tau Honor Society Key
New Entrepreneurship Honor Society Starts Up at UB

Entrepreneurship is growing beyond the Merrick School. Increasingly, students from everywhere at the University of Baltimore are rolling up their sleeves and looking to entrepreneurship as an essential part of their educational experience. This is most evident in the recent class of Sigma Nu Tau—the national honor society for entrepreneurship.

Recently, 65 students, one faculty member and one local entrepreneur became charter members of the honor society’s chapter at UB. The society’s mission is to promote, recognize and reward academic excellence in entrepreneurship, and to encourage and recognize the practice of principled entrepreneurship.

The University of Baltimore chapter was the 14th chapter to be established nationwide. It is  recognized as the largest charter membership chapter.

The Sigma Nu Tau induction ceremony[ held on March 9 in the Langsdale Library's auditorium, brought together family and friends of the inductees and a keynote speech from local serial entrepreneur Mark Jankowski, who co-founded the Shapiro Negotiations Institute. After selling SNI in 2012, Jankowski founded Amplified Learning, which is dedicated to helping clients and school systems implement learning technology solutions. He has also written two best-selling books on negotiation, The Power of Nice: How to Negotiate So Everyone Wins – Especially You! and Bullies, Tyrants & Impossible People: How to Beat Them without Joining Them.  Although he continues to deliver keynotes and seminars, Jankowski’s primary focus is on consulting clients.

Congratulations to all of our inductees, and good luck to them in their future ventures.
