2016 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Award Badge for Best Undergraduate Business Programs. We learned in September that the 2016 U.S. News & World Report, in their Best Colleges edition, ranked our undergraduate business programs as one of the top in the nation. With 1,624 undergraduate business programs in the country, we are proud to be ranked #156. In other words, Merrick is in the top 12 percent of all the U.S. undergraduate business programs.

2016 U.S. News & World Report, Best Online Programs Award Badge for Best Online MBA Programs. The Merrick School of Business has been offering a fully online MBA since 1999. As a matter of fact, we were the first AACSB accredited school to have an online program. This year U.S. News & World Report, in their 2016 Best Online program survey, ranked our online MBA program as one of the best—that’s five years in a row of being a top program. We are definitely proud to have earned this distinction. University of Baltimore's online programs are among more than 1,200 programs surveyed by U.S. News. Only regionally accredited institutions whose programs are offered mostly or entirely online were evaluated.

According to the 2015 Social Mobility Index, the University of Baltimore UB ranks # 1 in Maryland and # 86 in the country. The SMI is computed from five variables: published tuition, percent of student body whose families are below the U.S. median income, graduation rate, reported median salary 0-5 years after graduation, and endowment. This just goes to show you that we continue to make excellence accessible.

In business school, return on investment is a concept we all learn. We found out that the UB degree is certainly helping the ROI for our graduates. In a recent online article titled “The 20 public colleges in the U.S. where students go to earn the highest salaries,” the University of Baltimore ranked #19 among public institutions. In the piece the author discusses a report generated by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, which evaluates earnings of students 10 years after they graduate from college.  The center obtained their data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.
