Sheila Bair at UB
Merrick Speaker Series Featuring Sheila Bair Video Recap

The series debuted in April 2009 with a lecture by Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of the Grameen Bank, we have hosted speakers with diverse perspectives. Early in the semester, Shelia Bair came to campus to discuss her book Bull by the Horns: Fighting to Save Main Street from Wall Street and Wall Street from Itself.

The former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation chair described the conflicted world of bank regulation and authoritative view of the degree to which fraud was the root problem on Wall Street. She encouraged everyone in the audience to stand up for what was right and not to sit on the sidelines when fraud and corruption was evident.

The Sept. 19 lecture can be viewed on the Merrick School of Business' YouTube channel.
