The UB/Towson M.B.A., co-hosted by the University of Baltmore's Merrick School of Business, was recognized as offering one of the top part-time M.B.A. programs according to the 2012 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Graduate Schools. Since 2006, the M.B.A. has been offered in partnership with Towson University. Highlights of the rankings will be published in the Best Graduate Schools 2012 edition book, available April 5.
Ranked alongside part-time M.B.A. programs at Duquesne University, San Francisco State University, the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, and several others, the M.B.A. has a growing reputation for its high-quality faculty, flexible scheduling and wide array of specialized content designed to meet the needs of regional employers. It's the region’s only AACSB-accredited M.B.A. program that requires a project management course to ensure that its graduates have the requisite knowledge, the skills and the competencies needed to execute key workplace strategies and initiatives. It is also the only area program that offers students the choice of on-campus and online classes.
"We're proud to be recognized by U.S. News as being among the country's best M.B.A.s," said Merrick School of Business Dean Darlene Smith. "You can't receive national recognition for a part-time M.B.A. if it doesn't resonate in the marketplace, and ours clearly does. I credit the program's success to our faculty, our students and our alumni who are making an impact in Baltimore and beyond."
"We are thrilled about this award and it is a further testament to the strength of the UB/Towson partnership," said Shohreh Kaynama, dean of Towson University's College of Business and Economics. "The M.B.A. is student focused and caters to the needs of working professionals."
Currently, the UB/Towson M.B.A. offers nine areas of specialization, which allows students to enhance their careers and meet their personal and professional goals:
- Entrepreneurship
- Finance
- Health Care Management
- Human Resource Management
- International Business
- Leadership and Organizational Learning
- Management Information Systems
- Marketing
- The Customized Specialization Option (General M.B.A.)
The UB/Towson M.B.A. also hosts four dual-degree programs:
The Merrick School of Business reports that there are nearly 4,500 of its alumni who hold the M.B.A. degree.
