Academic Achievement and Honors Event

Around this time of year, college campuses everywhere celebrate the successes of their graduates. It’s no different here at UB. Days before the University’s 111th commencement, the Merrick School of Business hosted its annual Academic Achievement and Honors ceremony. The event showcased the best of our students and their numerous academic achievements.

The program included the induction of 163 students into the four honor society chapters affiliated with the school—Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Mu Kappa Tau and Sigma Iota Epsilon—as well as a presentation of individual academic performance awards.

The Dean’s Award was presented to two well-deserving seniors, both of whom demonstrated high academic achievement, leadership and service during their time at UB. Colin Mayers, B.S. ’11, business administration with an accounting specialization, and Justin Sealover, B.S. ’11, management information systems, were given this award.

The Mary Lou Hudson Award also was presented at the ceremony. Rivka Schuck B.S. ’11 , received this award by achieving the honor of top female accounting student in this year’s graduating class.

The following students were recognized for their academic performance by the School’s department chairs and program directors. Each undergraduate specialization is represented by an honoree as well as two graduate business programs.
